Future Twin is headlining a very cool daytime show tomorrow: Festival of Resistance: A Benefit for the 99 Cent Print Committee. Other bands performing include Apogee Sound Club, The Rabbles, and Black Swans. There will also be readings by poets Sarah Menefee and Naoki Onodero, as well as a speech by Chris Carlsson of Shaping San Francisco.
It’s all going down from 3pm – 8pm tomorrow at El Rio, a spot I personally love because of how many of these types of progressive-causes-meet-local-music events it hosts.
The 99 Cent Print Committee is “a group of writers, poets, musicians, artists, philosophers & historians who support each others’ activism through print.” Its projects include, among many other things, a 20th anniversary anthology of SF Critical Mass.
Check out this live recording Future Twin recently debuted on KALX: Lead Future Twinner Jean Yaste says it’s a “live recording // off the cuff rehearsal // new direction” for the band that won’t be featured on the new 7″ they’re releasing in June — so if you missed the KALX broadcast the other night, then this is the only place you can hear it for now. Dig.
