Half-handed Cloud-I Was A King split 7"

Half-handed Cloud — the solo project of John Ringhofer, who also plays trombone in Sufjan Stevens’ Illinoisemakers — has to be one of the only bands out there right now that is capable of releasing a 5-song EP on a split 7-inch. Those five songs comprise the Blood Brothers EP and in total clock in at only 4.5 minutes, so that actually leaves enough time for the Nordic band I Was A King to supply the chipper, synthy pop number you can stream below, plus a Half-handed Cloud cover. (Half-handed Cloud returns the favor by including an I Was A King cover on the EP.)

According to the Oslo, Norway-based record label Splendour, only 60 or so physical copies remain of the 7-inch, and there will be no digital release. So if H-hC is your jam, you better hurry up and snag a copy.

You can preview a couple of the Half-handed Cloud songs here, and listen to I Was A King’s original contribution to the split 7-inch, a song called “Happy,” which is track two on the album Twilight Anniversaries:
