Caveman “Great Life” is from Yours Truly on Vimeo.

This Sunday, catch a fresh new band out of NYC playing a short West Coast tour, which ends at Brick & Mortar Music Hall: Caveman. They will be playing with Carletta Sue Kay (9pm, $7-10, tickets). It’s guaranteed that their next show in San Francisco will be in a much larger venue, so get an intimate music experience while it’s available!

Caveman stunned us at CMJ this year with a really bright, energizing set at the I Guess I’m Floating daytime showcase. Though longtime friends from in and around Brooklyn, the band only formed last year, and released their first full-length Coco Beware mid-November on their own label, Magic Man Records. The band claims their first album was recorded on a low budget, but it has infinite quality — the layers are so clean and bright, its fluctuating moods dictated by vocal harmony and effects. Another DIY fact about the band: one of its guitarists makes his own instruments and is owner of Cobra Guitars.
