Weekend @ Independent

As if 26 bands in two days this past weekend at Treasure Island Music Festival wasn’t enough for us, so comes CMJ Music & Film Marathon in New York. Plenty of San Francisco bands are headed out to make us proud, and The Bay Bridged will be providing some light coverage of the festival throughout the week. To those who will be in the area, here’s a couple highlights from this year’s schedule:

Oakland’s Weekend will be playing a heavy schedule this week, the highlighted show being the Brooklyn Vegan Friday night showcase at Music Hall of Williamsburg with Braids, Active Child, Pepper Rabbit and Blue Hawaii (Raphaelle of Braids’ solo project).

CMJ Imposition 2011

The CMJ Imposition 2011 presented by Impose Magazine and co-presented by others will be undoubtedly fun, including White Fence, Young Prisms and former Sacramento artist Chelsea Wolfe.

Sea of Bees @ 32 Ocean 11/20/10

Sea of Bees is also in town, playing showcases for Windish Agency, Riot Act Media, Wild Honey Pie and The Deli Magazine. See their full schedule on the band’s website.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper. has two shows on Wednesday: Webster Studio with T. Mills and others, and then another at Tammany Hall (see CMJ schedule).

KEXP 90.3 FM Seattle is doing some great CMJ parties, including a daytime performance on Friday from Waters (ex-Port O’Brien). See the KEXP site for a full schedule.

Last but definitely not least, we’ll be making it a priority to attend this fantastic party from Domino/Ribbon/Stereogum/Todd P/Software, which just announced the final details on the lineup, including John Maus.
