The more elusive side of Elephant 6 has recently starting coming out of its shell. Jeff Magnum is actually playing shows and curating festivals, Miles Kurosky still makes the occasional appearance with members of Beulah, and now, the Olivia Tremor Control is undergoing the reissue treatment and going on an extensive fall tour.
Music from the Unrealized Film Script: Dusk At Cubist Castle and Black Foliage: Animation Music Volume One, two double albums from the band’s mid-to-late 1990s catalog, will be available as a re-release on November 15th via Chunklet (“chafing America’s ass since 1993”). These albums will be receiving the deluxe vinyl reissue: re-touched artwork, re-mastering from original tapes, over three hours of rare/previously-unreleased material. Pitchfork has all the gory details.
Catch the band live in San Francisco at the Great American Music Hall on September 5th (8:00 pm, $17), with special guest (and fellow member of the Elephant 6) the Music Tapes. All tour dates after the jump.
