Not much mention has been made of Speculator yet here as a local musician. Speculator is Nick Ray, the guy who relocated his one-man party from Los Angeles to Oakland only recently and moved in with his pals Weekend (he remixed “Comma Summer” for their last 7″). “Jenny Says” is Nick Ray’s latest, probably the kind of fuzzy, darker-meaning pop song for those who enjoy Melted Toys. The track will appear on Speculator’s second full-length Nice, slated for an August 30 release on Underwater Peoples.
