Phono del Sol is this Saturday!

As we discussed yesterday, we are extremely excited to be producing the first ever Phono del Sol Music and Food Festival in Potrero del Sol Park this Saturday. Doors open at noon for this FREE, all ages, all day event, which features Aesop Rock, Mirah, Man/Miracle, Magik*Magik Orchestra, Religious Girls, and Appetite. With food trucks, DJs, and more, it’s really going to be a great afternoon, and we’d love to see you there.

Gardens & Villa and Generationals head out on tour

Santa Barbara indie pop quintet Gardens & Villa begins a month-long US tour by heading up the coast, performing with tourmates Generationals at Cafe Du Nord on Friday, July 15th (9:30pm, $10, 21+). Gardens & Villa just released its Richard Swift-recorded self-titled debut on Secretly Canadian. Locals HIJK kicks off Friday’s show.

Sean Hayes and FpodBpod perform at The New Parish

Local singer-songwriter Sean Hayes is busy working on a new album, so his show on Thursday, July 14th, at The New Parish (9pm, $16/20) is one of only two Hayes performances this summer. In other words, if you want to see this talented folk-rocker soon, get to this show, where he’ll be joined by SF’s FpodBpod and the premiere of the latest episode of Chasing the Moon.

Jonathan Richman’s latest Make-Out Room residency

If you’re ever chronicling a list of “great things about San Francisco,” make sure you include local hero Jonathan Richman‘s periodic residencies at the Make-Out Room. Richman returns to this intimate Mission haunt from July 12th through the 14th (8pm, $15), joined, as always, by drummer Tommy Larkins.
