Thao & Mirah’s homecoming show at the Great American

After a nationwide tour behind their self-titled album, Thao & Mirah return home for a show at the Great American Music Hall on Thursday, June 23rd (8pm, $16). Tourmates BOBBY (which includes Mountain Man’s Molly Sarle) release their debut album today.

Rock and roll at Thee Parkside led by Wax Idols and The Paperhead

Sunday night, June 26th, local rock bands Wax Idols, Lilac, and The Wrong Words head to Thee Parkside (8pm, $6). There, they’ll join The Paperhead, a psych-pop trio from Nashville, who, like The Wrong Words, released their first album on Trouble in Mind earlier this year.

Metal Mother’s first SF show: at Bottom of the Hill with Religious Girls

Oakland bands unite at Bottom of the Hill on Tuesday, June 21st (9pm, $8), as avant-pop project Metal Mother teams with noisy art-rock band Religious Girls. Metal Mother’s recently released Bonfire Diaries, available for streaming and purchase via Bandcamp.
