The Clift Sessions have returned for 2011, so it’s time to break out your best Chucks and swank it up at the Clift Hotel. For those not already familiar, the Clift Hotel and IAMSOUND Records team up for the Clift Sessions, wherein hot indie bands play special shows at the downtown San Francisco hotel.
Dedicated to creating a unique live music experience for both hotel guests and locals alike, Clift and IAMSOUND Records have partnered for a four-month summer series, hot on the heels of their fall/winter collaboration, which featured artists including Francis and the Lights, Theophilus London and Fool’s Gold playing to sold-out crowds in the exclusive Redwood Room and recently revamped Velvet Room at Clift.
Here’s the schedule for summer 2011:
- June 2: Gayngs
- June 5: The Vaccines
- June 27: Mark Gardener (from Ride), in conjunction with the screening of Upside Down (documentary about Creation Records – director Danny O’Connor will be there as well)
- July 24: Cults
- August 19: Dirty Beaches (with special DJs)
The sessions will take place from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am at the Clift Hotel’s Velvet Room + Redwood Room. RSVP is required to attend any of the sessions. To do so, email cliftsessions@morganshotelgroup.com.
