Consider this a late addition to this week’s Recommended shows: nineteen (!) local bands converge at the Restoration Workshop (630 Treat Avenue, San Francisco) this weekend for the two-day Walk Like An Egyptian music festival. The fest offers a broad sampling of bands from a number of genres, including previously blogged-about acts like Michael Musika, fpodbpod, Buxter Hoot’n, Honeycomb, The Blank Tapes, Kacey Johansing, Grand Lodge and Foxtails Brigade.
Kacey Johansing – “Angel Islandâ€
Grand Lodge – “Pleasure Out Of Pain”
Foxtails Brigade – “The Hours”
Walk Like An Egyptian raises funds for Zambaleta, a nonprofit world music/dance school dedicated to building an “inclusive musical community where everyone has equal access to music education irrespective of their economic background or musical competency.”
The festival takes place from 1pm-12am on Saturday, May 7th, and 12pm-8pm on Sunday, May 8th. $5 – $20 sliding scale.
