Judging from the crowd to see them yesterday at the Force Field/Terrorbird party and a slate of high-profile shows the rest of the week, Merrill Garbus and TUnE-yArDs are likely to be one of the most buzzed about bands after South by Southwest. That’s not exactly a bold prediction, though, given the already-feverish anticipation for w h o k i l l, out 4/19 on 4AD.

tUnE-yArDs – “Bizness”

“Bizness,” as well as “Gangsta,” which was captured recently by Listen Before You Buy, demonstrate the significant leap in fidelity between the new album and Garbus’ past work. Merrill was aided in the studio by Eli Crews, who, according to an interview with Stereogum, helped her capture the sounds she wanted.

Following w h o k i l l‘s release, tUnE-yArDs kicks off a US tour at the Great American Music Hall on April 26 28, with Buke & Gass and Man/Miracle. My advice? Buy your tickets for that one sooner than later. Full dates below.
