Wax Idols represent the femme fatales of modern punk — never surrendering the strength of fierce, seductive art to deafened, manhood-stripped captors. The three-fourths female garage band has been running laps around the San Francisco small club and bar circuit with lasting impact, including a great opening set for Tamaryn last month during Noise Pop.

The video for “All Too Human” premiered last week on female artist-focused blog Betty San Francisco. The Chicago-based label Hozac will release the song on a 7″ in April, shortly before Wax Idols’ debut LP (release date TBD). Co-produced by songwriter Heather Fortune, the Run Lola Run-style montage travels through the Mission and out to the waterfront, with cameos from local musical comrades like Magic Bullets and Weekend.
