The Bay Bridged may not be organizing a SXSW showcase this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t promote the like-minded events going on in 2011. Some of our Bay Area peers have put together some fantastic events that will take place this week in Austin. Take a listen to our San Francisco at SXSW mixtapes and check out the details below.
— SF Bay Area Throwdown, organized by Wave Array and presented by No Hassle Castle, taking place on Saturday, March 19th, 12:00 pm – 2:00 am at The Trophy Room. The full lineup for the showcase can be seen above, and includes AB & the Sea, Ash Reiter, Wave Array, Or the Whale, The Mumlers and Man in Space.
— Wiretap Music Unofficial SXSW 2011 Showcase, taking place on Thursday, March 17th from 8:00 pm – 2:00 am at the Liberty (Facebook RSVP). The lineup features Agent Ribbons, The Sandwitches, Social Studies, Social Studies, Exray’s, Mist Giant, Pancho-San, and Fist Fam.
— Brooklyn vs. The Bay showcase, presented by Tiger Mountain and Noise Pop, taking place Wednesday, March 16th from 12:00 – 6:00 pm at Red Eyed Fly. As the title suggests, the lineup includes Brooklyn bands (O’Death, The Spinto Band, Delicate Steve, etc.) and Bay Area bands (The Dodos, John Vanderslice, Mark Eitzel, etc.).
— Terrorbird Media and Force Field PR 4th annual SXSW day party, on Wednesday, March 16th from 12:00 – 6:00 pm at Red 7. Features a variety of great bands, including Exray’s, the Soft Moon, Lord Huron, Weekend, Braids, tUnE-yArDs and more.
— Yours Truly and Bella Union showcase, taking place on Wednesday, March 16th at the French Legation Museum from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. Vetiver will be headlining, preceded by Lanterns on the Lake, Bobby, Alessi’s Ark and more.
— SFitall SXSW 2-day showcase, taking place on Wednesday, March 16th and Friday, March 18th at Vortex Repertory Co. Wednesday’s lineup includes the Ferocious Few, The Frail, Social Studies, Birds & Batteries and more, and Friday’s lineup includes The Sandwitches, Foxtails Brigade, Carletta Sue Kay and more.
— BAMM.tv various showcase events, a three-day event series taking place 3/17 – 3/19/11. Thursday, March 17th features the likes of The Ferocious Few, Mister Heavenly, and The Moondoggies at the Beauty Bar; Friday March 18th features HOTTUB, The Stone Foxes, Wallpaper. and more at the Palm Door; Friday March 19th features AB & the Sea, Birds & Batteries, Thao with the Get Down Stay Down and more at the Palm Door. — Antenna Farm Records and friends at SXSW, taking place on Thursday, March 17th at the Ghost Room from 8:00 pm – 2:00 am. The lineup features a variety of artists on Antenna Farm’s roster, including Sugar & Gold, Agent Ribbons, Social Studies, and Foxtails Brigade.
