There are very few bands that are tastefully preserving post-rock’s mathy guitar parts, abrupt time signature changes and bright melodies, so cleanly executed in the late 1990s-early 2000s by bands like Hella, Don Caballero and Owls. Sacramento’s Tera Melos are among said preservationists. Their 2010 release Patagonian Rats (Sargent House) is streaming below, with the rest of their discography available to stream on their Bandcamp site (boy, do we ever appreciate Bandcamp).
Tour dates for Tera Melos and Marnie Stern (who was recently profiled in the New Yorker) are posted after the jump. The joint venture ends here with a co-headlining show at Bottom of the Hill on March 18, opener TBD.
Tera Melos’ Zoo Weather EP, with new tracks and album remixes, will be available as a cassette/digital download during the tour.
