Known mostly these days for adding a whole new element to someone else’s live performance, say Wavves or Marnie Stern, Sacramento-based collaborative drummer Zach Hill releases his second solo album, Face Tat, today on Sargent House (home also to Tera Melos, Russian Circles and Fang Island). His concoctions are jarring, but find an imaginative relationship incorporating electro and hip-hop into the rock melange. Also of note, Face Tat features contributions from Devendra Banhart and Prefuse 73 as well as members of Deerhoof, Tera Melos and No Age.
