The ongoing Penny Arcade showcase, featuring local indie rock, psychedelic, folk, and Americana acts, continues this week with performances from Tim Cohen, Sam Flax/Higher Color, Doctor Nurse and Hélène Renaut perform (Make Out Room, 8pm, $7). Can’t hardly wait for the arrival of our tenth month! With it comes another Penny Arcade gatherin’. One that promises to be absolutely grandiose in radness and good times. This upcoming bill includes some of my all-time favorite local performers who accentuate and energize our vibrant music scene. Tim Cohen’s (Black Fiction, The Fresh and Onlys) live work is always an amazing experience. His newest band Magick Trick headline this killer line-up. I’m super-stoked to have em on board. Sam Flax Keener and The Higher Color shimmer and shine in full technicolor rock and roll fantasy, an absolute blast to watch. Doctor Nurse wonderfully craft together a well woven quilt of folk and pop to keep ya warm on the cool nights of October. Helene Renaut’s mesmerizing musings keep us all afloat with wonder…Helene kicks off this fun night at 8pm sharp.
