A couple of free parties this week celebrate the best things about life in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thursday night, head over to the Mezzanine (9pm, Free) for the San Francisco Bay Guardian’s Best of the Bay 2010 party, held to celebrate the honorees of the mag’s recent Best of the Bay issue. The show features performances by Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express, Stephanie Finch & The Company Men, and The Bitter Honeys, with a DJ set by DJ OME.

Friday night, the East Bay Express takes over Jack London Square (5pm, Free, All Ages) for a Best of the East Bay party featuring music, art, and more.
