Make Me's final show, 7/30/10 at the Uptown

Four years of solid indie pop have found Oakland’s Make Me at a crossroads – either attempt to continue as a band with a tiny new fifth member (keyboardist Claire Haynie and drummer Wes Chase’s new baby), or put the band on hiatus. Make Me have chosen the latter, and have also carved out some room for their musical efforts to continue.

The final Make Me show will take place Friday, July 30th at the Uptown (9:00 pm, free, 21+), with Dreamdate and Schande. This show will also mark the release of Make Me’s digital EP, Last Hurrah (a set of new tunes, on the heels of 2009’s House of Brakes).

Make Me – “Matters”

As Claire and Wes take care of their new baby, Make Me’s other members will also manage to keep themselves busy. Bassist Zola Goodrich has teamed up with Chloe Turan (Stilleta) to form Bam!Bam!, and they are scheduled to play at Mama Buzz Cafe on August 13th. Meanwhile, Make Me’s guitarist, Jeremy Sullivan, is drumming with Chambers and working on his own solo work as PARENTZ.
