Seaweed Sway and Songbird Festival have teamed up to promote some new projects with a show on Sunday, July 18th at the Make-Out Room (7:30 pm, $7, 21+).
Salt Minds is the new musical brainchild of Mariee Sioux and Sean Kae from Dearest, a folksy project that weaves in elements of synth and electric guitar for a slightly scratchier result. il gato, while not particularly new to the San Francisco scene, will be playing on the heels of their recently-released album. All These Slippery Things is an ongoing lesson in lush folk compositions, and the band’s first album since 2007.
il gato – “On Feathers and Arrows (on Burnt Pine)”
Lastly, Lucky Cloud will be celebrating the release of their new EP. Lucky Cloud is comprised of Zack Ehrlich (the Botticellis), Michale Landis and Amanda Harper.
The show will be hosted by Jeremy Dalmas, who apparently will also be performing a live rendition of a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode (“Cause & Effect”). An eclectic addition, to say the least.
