The fourth season of the Soundwave Festival starts this Sunday, June 6th, brought to us by ME’DI.ATE Art Group:

ME’DI.ATE’s Soundwave Festival is San Francisco’s premier experiential arts festival held every two years over the span of two months over the summer. Bringing together sound purveyors from across the sonic spectrum (from sound art to experimental to classical to popular music), Soundwave presents innovative performances and activities that challenge the way audiences see and hear sound and music.

This year’s festival will feature over 75 artists in 35 performances, in partnership with institutions/organizations such as the de Young, Yerba Buena Gardens, and Rock the Bike (bike-powered music stage!). Some of the more indie-style artists performing include The Drift, Lazarus, Danny Paul Grody, Odessa Chen, Barn Owl, and more.

The Drift – “Uncanny Valley”

Sunday’s event will be a retreat to the wilderness out at Battery Townsley in the Marin Headlands, to which Soundwave will be offering bus service from San Francisco. Check out the rest of the festival’s like-minded events plus ticket information on the Soundwave 2010 website.
