We’re sad to report that Tempo no Tempo‘s journey as a Bay Area indie mainstay is drawing to a close. In a recent email, the band wrote:
It’s been an amazing stretch of bandhood, and we’ve accomplished more than we had dreamed of during our existence. We particularly want to thank our former bandmate Chris Cadena for playing with us for four years, Shawn Reynaldo for putting out our 2nd record and always calling us out to be a better band, the lovely Splinters for being our sister band, CK Ladzekpo for teaching us African polyrhythm and especially all our families for their consistent support. We want to thank everyone who helped our band along the way, whether it’s bookers, radio stations, promoters, musicians, friends or housemates.
Tempo no Tempo’s final show is this Friday, June 4th at the Rickshaw Stop, along with Born Ruffians and Young Rival (8:30 pm, $12). As extra incentive to see the band one last time, a “liquidation” sale will accompany the performance, wherein the band will sell their CDs and LPs for $1 at the show only.
