Thee Oh Sees, a band not know for idleness, are set to release another album of garage-rock proportions. Warm Slime comes out on May 11th via In the Red, who also released 2009’s Help. Of course, the band’s also been releasing a seemingly endless series of 7″s and EPs over the past year, as well as the Dog Poison album on Captured Tracks.
From the sound of things (i.e. “I Was Denied”), Thee Oh Sees are continuing in their tradition of experimental lo-fi, with a newly refined assault of sound and overall jovial feel, punctuated by a series of hyperactive “la la las.”
Thee Oh Sees are scheduled to play the Uptown this Saturday, April 10th (9:00 pm, $10). Fellow local punk rockers Grass Widow and Tropical Sleep will open the show. Thee Oh Sees will also play the Fillmore on April 23rd, opening for Yo La Tengo.
