The guys of Battlehooch originally made a name for themselves in San Francisco by quite literally taking to the streets. The band often performed out in public using a homemade generator, educating the masses with their outlandish music and live performances.

Seeing as this band challenges itself to avoid doing the same thing twice (as they told The Bay Bridged in their 2009 podcast interview), it makes sense that Battlehooch has now taken their busking behavior to the complete opposite of the city street scene.

The band has embarked on the “Desolation Series,” where each performance takes place in a desolate place in front of nobody. This series, as the band stated in an e-mail, plays into their “ultimate goal of being the first band to play on the moon.”

The first performance, caught in the above video, took place just outside of Sedona, Arizona on the way back from Battlehooch’s stint at this year’s SXSW.
