The week’s chosen bands all share a few similarities: they’ve recently released new singles, are about to embark on national tours, and two of the three are stopping in Austin this week for SxSW.
Before releasing Panorama, Birds & Batteries shelled out the free download “Out in the Woods,” an “extended prog-house jam” sampling both the upcoming record and their last record, Up To No Good. While in Austin, B&B will be playing our Bay Area Takeover at the Beauty Bar, as well as other shows (listed after the jump).
On a similar game plan is the local stringed metal band, Judgement Day, also making the teaser-before-the-record move. Their self-released Peacocks/Pink Monsters will be out April 13, but until then, enjoy the very last track from the album, “Genosha”. They claim to perform this song uniquely every time, which will be reinvented this Saturday at SxSW at the Dominican Joe Coffee Shop, and have additional tourdates after the jump.
