Every few weeks comes the necessary roundup of recent media that we’d love to share from Bay Area bands.
Merging gorgeous visuals with local independent music, One Night Music is a new treat for us. ONM’s most recent session, with the mesmerizing collective Honeycomb, was documented back in December at BlueSix. The session includes downloadable audio, videos for every song, a thorough biography and contributed coverage from Mission Local.
Above, Viennese videographers They Shoot Music – Don’t They have caught the Bay Area bug, releasing two videos sessions from locals Railcars and Thao with the Get Down Stay Down.
Of course, a Media Monday would be incomplete without a “locals on Daytrotter” report. This round, we have new sessions from Port O’Brien, Social Studies and Sacramento’s Ganglians (a track from that session below). According to a recent Daytrotter newsletter, the team was in town during Noise Pop 2010 for sessions with several Bay Area bands, including Sleepy Sun, Rogue Wave, John Vanderslice and Young Prisms. As expected, we’re dying to know the release dates, which are all TBA.
Last we have an unusual cover from Or, the Whale of Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” done for Cokemachineglow’s Fantasy Podcast, a collection of covers from the 2000s. Enjoy the rest of the week, readers![audio:http://www.forcefieldpr.com/orthewhaletoxic.mp3]
