One of the hidden costs imposed by this terrible economy is the impact it is having on the music community. We know that it has become difficult for many to afford to complete recording projects, which is why we’re pleased to launch The Bay Bridged Recording Grant through a partnership with Tiny Telephone. This new program for local bands and artists will provide grant recipients with special assistance to record at Tiny Telephone in the next few months. If selected, you will be able to book up to three days at the studio in the coming months where The Bay Bridged will pay for the session engineer.
We’d like to thank John Vanderslice and Tiny Telephone for their involvement in the project. Over the past decade, the studio has emerged as one of San Francisco’s premiere recording studios, hosting an indie who’s-who of bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Jolie Holland, The Mountain Goats, and Spoon, all while remaining a destination studio for Bay Area bands. The gear is great, the engineers are great and the rates are affordable.
In order to apply: fill out this brief application form and follow the instructions on the form. Applicants will be evaluated by The Bay Bridged based on the perceived merit of the recording project and the band or artist’s demonstrated commitment to live performance and recording endeavors. We’ll be taking applications beginning today and will announce a week before we close the application window.
