The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts has released their schedule for the 09′-10′ season with some new changes aimed to make the arts more accessible. For starters, the gallery hours have shifted to stay open later, recognizing the fact that a majority of it’s patrons work or attend school during the day. They are also planning to offer more “free with gallery admission” events, including same-day gallery admission with all paid YBCA events.

This year’s schedule features a galaxy of human creation. PUSH PLAY>YBCA Summer Festival will kick off the season with  Wallworks, where artists (some include Makoto Aida, Edgar Arceneaux, Chris Finley, Tillman Kaiser, Odili Donald Odita, Amanda Ross-Ho, Yehudit Sasportas, and Leslie Shows) create large-scale works on gallery walls and public spaces.

Also appearing as a part of the new season will be Until The Light Takes Us, a film by Aaron Aites and Audrey Ewell, which we talked about earlier this week. The film only shows from July 9th to July 11th, so get your tickets!

The season’s events present evidence of a close relationship with music, including a festival with musicians and bands from all walks of life. Click here to check out the complete schedule of events.
