The Parson Red Heads – “Crowds”
(((folkYEAH!))) Presents and The Mother Hips have teamed up for an epic-looking two-day festival in Big Sur over the Fourth of July weekend. The 1st Annual Mother Hips Family Hipnic takes place at the Henry Miller Library over Friday, July 3rd and Saturday the 4th, and features an exciting lineup of acts including Little Wings, Moondoggies, Citay, Emily Jane White, Parsons Red Heads, These United States, and more.
Little Wings – “Scuby”
These United States – “Get Yourself Home (In Search of the Mistress Whose Kisses are Famous)”
The Mother Hips co-curated the fest with (((folkYEAH!))) and will be headlining both nights’ shows. Among others, they’re expected to play songs from a new album due out this fall. Hips frontman Tim Bluhm is quoted as saying, “Big Sur has always been an inspirational place and a hideout for artists of all kinds. It’s exciting to congregate there and make music.”
Festival hours are 3pm-11pm (Friday) and 1pm-11pm (Saturday). Tickets are $25 per day or $45 for a two day pass (kids under 11 are free), and can be purchased at HenryMiller.org. Information on camping for the weekend can be found here and here.
