San Francisco
The City has much to offer tomorrow by way of live performances. Head to Amoeba for DJs from 2pm-6pm and giveaways by the hour from 12pm-5pm. Streetlight Records on Market Street will host Anni Rossi — think Andrew Bird’s string melodies mingling with PJ Harvey’s lyricism. Those looking for a little alt-country should head to the Music Store in West Portal, where Lonesome Shack plays from 2pm to 4pm. Don’t forget to stop by the other shops in the city offering once a year discounts on your favorite vinyl.

Rasputin Music will be hosting Silversun Pickups at 4pm. Rolling Stone magazine calls these folks “a West Coast shoegaze band not afraid to wear its Smashing Pumpkins love on its sleeve.” If they don’t do it for you, you can’t beat the limited edition prints for sale, including a 7″ of Whiskeytown with 2 unreleased tracks from 1996; and, a Sublime 7″ both with only 3000 copies and only on Record Store Day. Yoni Wolf (Why?) and others will be DJing at Amoeba Berkeley

There may only be one record shop in Sac mustering the strength to put on an RSD event, but R5 Records makes up for all the other ones. Two music areas. 19 DJs from 9am to 5pm!!!!! 6 bands from 12-6pm. This show may just be worth the hour plus drive from the City, not to mention a HUGE parking lot sale of records and other musical merchandise. Armadillo Music in Davis will have Garrett Pierce bring out the folk, not to mention everything used in the store is 50% off.

South Bay
Streetlight Records in San Jose is bringing the noise to the South Bay. four bands from 12-6pm. Five DJs from 11am to 8pm.

Around the Bay
Concord’s Rasputin is hosting Mister Loveless at 5pm. Santa Cruz knows how to rep the day too. Streetlight will be holding performances from 1pm-5pm, with bands like Motorcycle Snakebite, Mountain Animal Hospital, and Tommy Santee Klaws filling the bill. And just because Mavericks never came this year doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check out The Music Hut in Half Moon Bay who are having a party from 10-5 and will be swinging to the bluegrass tunes of Ten Brook and guitarist Mark Castralla.
