AB & the Sea

Hailing from Wisconsin, A B & the Sea have officially moved to San Francisco. After having dipped their feet into the Bay Area music scene, they will bring their infectious indie pop to Noise Pop this year, playing next Friday, Feb. 27 at Bottom of the Hill with Dear and the Headlights (AZ), Kinch (AZ) and Big Light.

A B & the Sea bring back some old-fashioned surf-pop music that even references California (though… “southern California,” hmm). The guitar effects, cymbal-heavy drum beats and multi-part harmonies are catchy and nostalgic. The band brings these classic elements together with the noticeable influence of modern indie pop bands like Death Cab and The Shins.

The band will release a debut full-length in April, which is being produced by Chris Chu of The Morning Benders and recorded at Different Fur Studios in SF. In March they will open for Marcy Playground at the Red Devil Lounge.

Their Noise Pop show begins at 8:30 and is $10 advance, $12 at the door.
