Update: The preliminary festival schedule has been posted!

Yesterday, Noise Pop made some exciting announcements about their 2009 festival, which takes place Feb. 24 through Mar. 1 at venues throughout San Francisco. The announcement includes the addition of some great local and non-local acts and info about presale tickets and badges.

First things first, artists added to the headline lineup are:

Bob Mould (DC)
Thao (DC)
The Ohsees
Sleepy Sun
Ra Ra Riot (Syracuse, NY)
Sholi
From Monument To Masses

All of this is atop the fantastic list of already-announced artists:

French Kicks (NY)
A.C. Newman (Brooklyn)
St. Vincent (Brooklyn)
Martha Wainwright (NY)
Broken West (LA)
Clues
The Morning Benders
No Age (LA)
Josh Ritter (ID)
The Submarines (LA)
Stephen Malkmus (who is performing his first ever solo show in the Bay Area)

Individual tickets will go on sale through all regular venue outlets starting on Sunday, Jan. 11. Noise Pop 2009 Festival badges grant the owner entry to all general admission Noise Pop Festival events and are priced at $150 each. An early bird 10 percent discount is being offered until Jan. 12, 2009.

Badges can be purchased from the Noise Pop 2009 site. There you can also find info about the bands and eventually a detailed schedule of shows.

Of course Noise Pop 2009 is about more than music. The festival will include film screenings, gallery art openings, “Industry Noise” (co-produced with Bandwidth Conference) – a single day music industry conference featuring educational panels and “Pop ‘n’ Shop” – a local indie designer trunk sale and poster show.
