This Sunday, four local bands will take the stage for the noble purpose of supporting the Bay Area Girls Rock Camp (BAGRC) and the Girls Rock Camp Alliance. Foxtail Somersault, We Are Invisible, Oona and Megamoog will perform at El Rio with DJ Lisa Light of The Lovemakers providing the mood music between sets.

The Girls Rock Camp Alliance is an international coalition of organizations whose shared mission is to empower girls and women using the tools of music education to foster self-esteem and confidence. For those of you who saw this year’s BAGRC showcase, you know that this is a kick-ass group of girls and mentors. The girls are taught to challenge gender stereotypes, encourage collaboration and tolerance among peers, and provide a comfortable space for people of all backgrounds to express themselves.

This is a fantastic show for an amazing cause. Check it out. 8:30pm, $5.
