It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Social Studies, whose endearing debut EP This is the World’s Biggest Hammer and great live show have made them one of our long-time local favorites. Since we interviewed the band some time ago, they’ve had a couple of personnel changes and been busy working on a new full length album titled Wind-Up Wooden Heart. The band proclaims the new album to be “pop music fully realized for a modern era” and songs like “Time Bandit”–which longtime fans will recognize from the band’s live show–showcase the group’s skills at sophisticated and ultra-catchy pop.
