Every month, we dedicate a week of our podcast to highlighting some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing soon in the San Francisco Bay Area. We’ve got ten great bands playing some excellent shows this month, so head out and see some live music!
About the bands:
Portalnd’s Starfucker (“German Love”) kick off the show with a song from their self-titled debut album. The band’s headlining a great show with SF bands Master/Slave (Feature Podcast) and Man/Miracle (Feature Podcast). The show’s on Friday, November 7th at the Hemlock Tavern.
Social Studies (“We Choose Our Own Adventures”) (Feature Podcast) recently sent us some new songs that they’ve been working on, and we’re pleased to include one in this episode. On Monday, November 10th, they’ll be at Bottom of the Hill with Dungen and Women.
Los Angeles’s Tigers Can Bite You (“Colleagues”) have a new album titled Steve Ward Hears Voices on TBB contributor Will Benham’s New And Used Records label. The Dont’s (Feature Podcast) and Geographer (Feature Podcast) will join them on Saturday, November 8th at the El Rio.
Danielson (“Animal in Every Corner”) are currently touring behind Trying Hartz, a new collection of songs from the band’s first decade of music. They are headlining over at Bottom of the Hill alongside Cryptacize and Bart Davenport (Feature Podcast) on Friday, November 14th.
Back from a nationwide tour, Michael Zapruder (“Ads For Feelings”) celebrates the release of his new CD Dragon Chinese Cocktail Horoscope, out now on Side Cho Records. The release show also features performances from The R&B Freejazz Gospel Supreme 80 and 1090 Club. It’s on Wednesday, November 5th at Bottom of the Hill.
After some Midwest dates, Loquat (“Big Key, Little Door”) (Feature Podcast) are back for the CD release show for their new album Secrets Of The Sea. The show is Saturday, November 8th at Bottom of the Hill with The Frail and Mist And Mast (Feature Podcast).
Crooked Fingers (“Sleep All Summer (Live)”) are touring behind their fifth and latest album Forfeit/Fortune. They’ll join Port O’Brien (Feature Podcast) and Sarah Jaffe at the Great American Music Hall on November 11th.
Also a member of Lavender Diamond, Devon Williams (“A Truce”) released Carefree earlier this year on Ba Da Bing Records. Catch him on Saturday, November 15th with The Impossible Shapes and Campo Bravo (Feature Podcast) at the Hemlock Tavern.
Austin electro-pop band Belaire (“You Really Got Me Goin'”) stop in SF during a two week West Coast tour. They’ll be playing with excellent locals Finest Dearest (Feature Podcast) and The Aimless Never Miss (Feature Podcast) on Thursday, November 6th at the Hemlock Tavern.
The Hot Toddies (“Anais Nin Vs. The Pirates of Santa Cruz”) (Feature Podcast) are currently working on new material for the follow-up to last year’s Smell the Mitten. The band headlines a great show on November 20th at the Rickshaw Stop, also featuring The Attachments and The Ian Fays (Feature Podcast)
