Mike Relm, San Francisco’s mash-up prince, released his debut original album Spectacle last Tuesday on Radio Fried Records. Relm has made a name for himself nationally as a wicked live turntablist, mashup artist (audio and video) and even film director. He is well known for his innovative blend of songs, as well as his quirky realtime mashups of popular songs from Bjork to the Charlie Brown theme song. His latest adventure was providing music and on-screen entertainment for Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom Huck Jam across the country.
Relm has also just released the first video from the new album, which he himself directed. The song, “Everytime,” features Del The Funky Homosapien and Adrian Hartley.
While his MySpace page shows no sign yet of another show in the Bay Area, we’re hoping (and optimistic) that he’ll come through soon to promote the record. In the meantime, It seems he has a new, exciting endeavor every couple of months, so keep an eye on his blog for what’s next.
