Continuing with the fabulous San Francisco summer parties, this Sunday at 1pm, GOOD Magazine will host their 2nd annual Block Party at 111 Minna Street in SF.
GOOD is a magazine-website-video-events hybrid “for people who want to live well and do good.” This year’s block party will feature street vendors, food and drinks and an outdoor stage with performances by DJ Franki Chan (LA), The Morning Benders, The Mumlers, DJ Vin Sol and more to be announced. The only catch is, the event is only open to subscribers. You can subscribe to GOOD Magazine here — for 20 bucks you get 6 issues of the magazine, entrance and drinks to all GOOD Mag parties, and a donation to one of the mag’s 12 nonprofit partners.
The bands chosen for this event are just perfect for a summer afternoon outdoors. The Morning Benders are still traveling around the country promoting their amazing indie pop record Talking Through Tin Cans. The Mumlers are also mid-tour, and their relaxing and sometimes groovy folk-infused indie would make any kind of weather pleasant. And of course, two fantastic DJs will have you dancing in between.
A few added bonuses will be available for the block party as well – free bike valet provided by the SF Bike coalition, cell phone and pager recycling stations, and free live screenprinting provided by Hit+Run. You can RSVP on GOOD mag’s website, and make sure you do so before 11am the day of the party.
