Andy Tisdall

Andy Tisdall may be better known as a member of Little Teeth, whose debut album comes out on Absolutely Kosher in September, but his solo work is equally compelling. This Saturday afternoon Tisdall celebrates the release of his latest album, Cotton Cannibals, with a great show over at El Rio.

Andy Tisdall’s last album, 2006’s I Want Your Brain, became an early favorite at The Bay Bridged, with a blend of experimental and acoustic chamber pop sounds that was catchy, fun and bizarre all at the same time, and he likewise did not disappoint at a performance at last year’s Mission Creek festival. From the two songs on his MySpace page, it sounds like Cotton Cannibals continues in the off kilter pop vein, and I’m excited to hear more.

Tisdall’s release show has a great line-up, with performances by local experimental pop compatriots
Maus Haus and 60 Watt Kid (Feature Podcast), along with Minnesota’s The Plagiarists. The show starts at 3pm and is $6.
