This weekend brings back-to-back shows Friday and Saturday nights, each hosted by a great Bay Area music website.
Friday night at Balazo Gallery, Pacific Noise will celebrate its two-year (roughly) anniversary with some great local bands and art. Disgust of us, Sister Grizzly, Project Alpha (fronted by Pacific Noise founder John Swanson) and The Union Trade will be performing, with art by Marc Tweed and Jon Weiss. The doors open at 7pm for art-gazing, and the music starts at 8. For $5, it’s a great lineup of bands and should be a fun time.
But don’t drink too much, because you’ll need to be fresh to get yourself over to the Starry Plough in Berkeley for the latest Deli SF Presents show. The night will feature 20 Minute Loop, The New Up and Silver Griffin.
20 Minute Loop are anticipating the release of a new album in July, and continue to play shows in support of the wave of the praise they received for their 2005 album Yawn + House = Explosion. The New Up is scheduled to release a new EP this year, so there’s sure to be some new music popping up from them on Saturday. The show starts at 9pm and costs $8.
