Scatterbrain Jamboree

It’s a great week to support a cause, with two benefits taking place. And it’s a pretty sweet bonus that you can see some great local bands in the process.

The first is a benefit for Rudy Beredo, who has a rare blood disease called aplastic anemia. The show cost will go toward covering the bills for his extended hospital stays and medications.

Presented by Wiretap Music, the show will feature three fantastic bands – Black Fiction, 60 Watt Kid and Chairman Wow, and takes place Wednesday at Thee Parkside. 8:30pm, $6-20.

The second is a two day extravaganza of many local bands called the Scatterbrain Jamboree. The show will benefit the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, which provides the Bay Area with vital services and programs for those living with AIDS/HIV. The Foundation also provides outreach programs to prevent AIDS from spreading.

The two-day benefit will feature a diverse group of local bands. Here are the bands on the bill:

Friday, Feb. 22:

The Mumlers
Make Me
The Holy Kiss
White Pee
Saturday, Feb. 23:
French Miami
The New Centuries
Death of a Party
Little Teeth
Thunder Thighs
The Bug Pedals
Top Critters
Bad Touch

The show takes place at Thee Parkside and costs $10 for one day and $16 for both days. Friday – 8pm, all ages. Saturday – 3pm, all ages.
