In the home stretch to release their CD in another month or so, Excuses for Skipping will grace the stage at Red Devil Lounge tomorrow night.
The high-energy band has been featured all over the local scene since word hit the streets of their debut album Out of Work Early. The Owl Mag, Wiretap Music, PirateCat Radio and many others have picked up on the sound of this refreshing all-girl band that isn’t afraid to step outside girl-band territory.
Tammy, Linda, Allison and Wendy make up the tight-knit group that turns feminine sensibility on its head by injecting post-punk riffs and loose harmonies into a quality indie base. The live show is a representation of the power of the band’s music as well as the resiliency of their friendships.
With local lovelies The May Fire and My First Earthquake by their side, supplemented by LA’s own Gran Ronde, it’s sure to be a good time. 8pm, $8.
