For some time now, we’ve been discussing the release of instrumental rock trio Parker Street Cinema‘s debut full length album and we’re pleased to report that Music, in the Blood comes out tomorrow on Abandoned Love Records, with a CD release party on Wednesday night.
Building on the band’s 2005 self-titled EP, the trio remains guitar-free, with a melodic bass sound somewhat reminiscent of Fugazi and The Minutemen and moody piano textures. The band also sprinkles some samples and a touch of brass on a couple of tracks as well. Check out a song from the new album below:
Check out more from the new album at the band’s MySpace page and web site. You can buy the new album from Abandoned Love Records and at Amazon.
The band celebrates the new release with a release party on Wednesday night alongside French Miami and Excuses for Skipping. The show starts at 9pm and is $8. It’s being presented by Wiretap Music and is also a benefit for the Boxcar Theatre.
