There’s an interesting trend recently of bands having month-long residencies at City venues, curating weekly shows with some of their favorite local bands. A couple of November residencies are reaching the halfway point, giving you a couple more chances to check each of them out.
Fresno’s Rademacher is halfway through their Wednesday night residency at The Knockout. The band is currenlty building anticipation for their upcoming full length Stunts, having been recently featured on Pacific Noise, and doing an ongoing LA blog residency as well. Before the CD release in late December, the band’s taking early orders over at their web site.
Check out some music by the band at their MySpace page and below:
Their remaining two shows are for the next two Wednesday nights at 9pm and are each $6. This week’s features Built Like Alaska and A Black Light, while next week’s includes The Lovely Public and Here Here.
A young band we’ve discussed before, San Francisco’s Lady Genius is spending its Tuesdays in November at the Hotel Utah. The band’s first recorded output is a song on the excellent Firsts compilation, the release of which they celebrated at the beginning of their residency. To check out Lady Genius, head on over to the band’s MySpace page, and there’s also a good discussion about them over at Macktronic.
The final two shows of the residency feature performances by Katrina Lamb, Jessica Pratt and Lazarus this week and The Fat Acrobats and Coconut the next. Both shows start at 9pm and are $6.
