Thursday night, Santa Rosa’s The New Trust head to Bottom of the Hill. The band, which started as a side project for The Velvet Teen‘s Josh Staples, released their first full length album, Dark Is The Path Which Lies Before Us, earlier this year. Since we interviewed them near the album’s release, the band has seen a few changes, as guitarist Matthew Izen has left the band, while Staples has left The Velvet Teen.
The now-trio’s album is really terrific, an exciting mix of tight melodic punk and indie rock sounds with passionate lyrics. Stop by the band’s web site and MySpace page to hear some songs.
Presented by Bagel Radio and Filter Magazine, Thursday’s show is a CD release party for Los Angeles’ Division Day. Opening the show is Minnesota’s Themes. The show starts at 9pm, is $10/$12 and is all ages.
