We’re totally stoked over this weeks Playing in Fog Show – not only did we have the pleasure to meet and interview Jon Bernson from Ray’s Vast Basement, but we have also been fortunate enough to see Two Sheds acoustic in the living room of a friends house. From both of these accounts, we can’t wait to see them perform on stage at what should be a great night of folk, rock, and a hint of country.

Ray’s Vast Basement, whose feature show you can check out above, is a musical project led by singer-songwriter-guitarist Jon Bernson that recently released its highly-acclaimed third full-length album, Starvation Under Orange Trees. This album is unique in that it started as a separate project to create a score for a theatrical version of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men. With most of the songs drawing inspiration from the characters and themes from the novel, Jon Bernson pulled out all of the stops recording it by including several guest appearances throughout the album including notable San Francisco artist Michael Zapruder and Nate Query of The Decemberists.

The music from Sacramento folk-rock duo, Two Sheds , has been spinning in The Bay Bridged’s studio, cars, and home for the last month after seeing them perform. Although from Sacramento, they do make several regular trips down to the bay and will be heading out on tour shortly after this show taking on shows up and down California and up into the Pacific Northwest. You can check out all of their shows on their myspace page.

Although, we have not heard of Frankel, we do know they are from LA and were hand chosen by Playing in Fog for the show. That being said, we are sure they will not disappoint and will definitely kick the evening off on the right foot.

The show starts at 9pm, is $7 and 21+.
