Before they moved to San Francisco, The Ian Fays were members of the Humboldt County music scene, a community captured by director Jensen Rufe in the documentary Rural Rock & Roll. The film, which profiles profiles a week in the lives of a number of Humboldt bands, has received some strong reviews and will have its final scheduled screening on Saturday at the Roxie as part of the Frozen Film Festival. The film starts at 7pm and advance tickets can be purchased here.
After Saturday’s screening, some bands from the film and others from the Humboldt area will gather at the Hotel Utah, including the Fays, Dynamite Sweater, The Broken Hearts, and Dameon Lee of The Lowlights.
The show starts at 9pm, is $8 and 21+.
