San Francisco indie-poppers Loquat emerge from the studio to play a rare show this Saturday night at the Independent. The band won critical accolades and radio attention for its 2005 album It’s Yours To Keep and has been hard at work on the follow-up which is currently untitled. You can hear a new song from the recording sessions over at their MySpace page and they will be playing a bunch of new stuff Saturday night.
For now, download a couple tracks from It’s Yours To Keep, released on the Jackpine Social Club label:
The band has been working with producers The Rondo Brothers, who are celebrating the release of their second CD Seven Minutes To Midnight at Saturday’s show. The guys’ new album blends elements of hip-hop and pop songwriting, appropriate for a duo who have worked with a variety of hip-hop producers and indie rockers. Check out “Still Your Ghost” off the new album, from Fortune Records/Citrus 2 Citrus.
Saturday’s show starts at 8:30pm and is $12. Foxtail Somersault opens.
