By now, you have likely heard about the tragic injury suffered on July 4th by Roisin Isner, a 17-year-old San Francisco resident known to many within the music community as the drummer for local punk band Tinkture. Isner was celebrating the Fourth by watching the fireworks in Dolores Park when a firework thrown by a currently-unknown person landed on her hand and exploded. According to the latest from the Chronicle, one of Isner’s fingers will be amputated while doctors are still working to repair the damage done to others.
On Monday, Punk Rock Sideshow, the Hemlock Tavern‘s weekly punk DJ night, will be hosting a benefit for Roisin, featuring performances by locals The Departed and Chix Pack (and possibly other bands), a raffle, and free pizza from Escape From New York.
The benefit runs from 7-10pm and is a $5 or more donation for Isner and her family.
This was originally incorrectly listed as happening last Monday. It is happening Monday the 16th.
