San Francisco country-infused rockers The Court & Spark are calling it a day with a final performance this Friday night at Cafe du Nord. Formed in the late 90s, the band has released six albums during its career, most recently Hearts last year on longtime label Absolutely Kosher Records. On their web site, the band commented, “We’ve had a good run and have had the good fortune to meet all kinds of wonderful souls as we’ve stumbled down the road. Thank you one and all for everything you’ve given us.”

The Court & Spark split as members M.C. Taylor and Scott Hirsch finish work on the debut album for their Hiss Golden Messenger project. In addition, both guys are moving to the East Coast but plan to keep the project going from there. Head on over to their MySpace page for more details and to hear some songs.
