For a little while now, Cafe du Nord has been hosting free “Locals Only” nights, but this month’s has to be the best bill we’ve seen so far–and it’s tonight! Headlining is one of the Bay Area’s strongest songwriters, Greg Ashley, who has been touring for a while now behind his latest album Painted Garden, out now on Birdman Records. Ashley’s now back in the Bay Area for a number of California dates this month and you should check him out tonight alongside The Moore Brothers and Last of the Blacksmiths.
We saw the Blacksmiths open up for Or, the Whale recently and thoroughly enjoyed their haunting blend of Americana, folk and indie music. As for the Moores, we have yet to see them live, but like the acoustic harmony-intensive folk-pop songs we’ve heard so far. You can check out their music over at their myspace here.
Tonight’s show starts at 9pm, is free and is 21+.
