Well, it’s quickly approaching the final day of the 2007 Mission Creek Music and Arts Festival. We’re pleased to help celebrate the festival’s 10-day run with a Closing Party on Sunday afternoon featuring BBQ, cheap drinks and five great local bands picked for your listening enjoyment. So stop by and check it out!

Or, the Whale

At Cafe du Nord, this week’s featured band Or, the Whale celebrates the record release party for their long-awaited debut album Light Poles and Pines. The show also features performances by Last of the Blacksmiths and Ledbetter and his Best Bet and should be an excellent night.

The Music Lovers

Over at the Make-Out Room, Bay Bridged alumni The Music Lovers headline, joined by pop stylings of The Hot Toddies and The Tartans. The headliners are in the final stages of completing their latest album Masculine, Feminine and you can read more about the record over at their MySpace blog.

Mia Doi Todd

At the Mezzanine, it’s the official MCMAF evening closing party and showcase for the Plug Research record label, the eclectic Los Angeles-based label known for experimental folk, electronic and hip-hop releases, including records from tonight’s performers Mia Doi Todd, Daedelus, and Flying Lotus. Also performing are San Francisco experimental folk-pop group Radius.
